Works have been successfully completed on our external repairs and redecoration project near Tower Bridge, delivering a comprehensive programme of refurbishment to enhance both the performance and appearance of the building.
A complex access strategy was implemented to facilitate the works, with scaffolding erected to the front elevation, two central lightwells, and the rear of the property. Due to the building’s proximity to the river, the rear scaffold was carefully supported from the jetty and riverbed, incorporating the historic crane structure and providing a unique working environment with views across the City.
The roofing works formed a key element of the project, including the full renewal of the mansard roofs to ensure long-term durability and weatherproofing. New lead cappings were installed to the parapet walls, and all guttering was treated using the Proteus liquid overlay system to provide a seamless and robust waterproof finish. The main roof was also repaired and coated with the same system, ensuring consistency in performance across all roof areas.
Externally, a full programme of redecoration was carried out to all elevations. This included the repair and refurbishment of several hundred windows, each carefully prepared, restored, and repainted to achieve a high-quality, uniform finish while preserving the character of the building.
Through careful planning, specialist access solutions, and a detail-driven approach, the project has successfully restored the building’s exterior while enhancing its long-term resilience and overall appearance.
